ADHD is a behavioral disorder that affects many people in the United States. Both children and adults alike can be diagnosed with ADHD, a prognosis that has many implications, especially for school-age children. Due to the different ways that ADHD manifests itself, both school performance and socialization can be impacted.
When a child is diagnosed with ADHD, it can manifest itself with inattentiveness, hyperactivity, or a combination of both. This can negatively impact a child’s school experience, causing the child to experience difficulty with academic performance, as well as making friends. Emotional outbursts can contribute to this, making it harder for kids with ADHD to connect with their peers. Fortunately, there are ways to help combat the effects of ADHD on a child’s educational and social growth.
The following infographic walks you through the effects of ADHD, as well as possible treatments. One of these treatments includes enrolling the child in a therapeutic school, which can have a positive impact on that child.
