Celebrating Random Acts of Kindness Week!

Students and staff at Sage Alliance’s campus in Boonton, NJ, are embracing National Random Acts of Kindness (RAK) week with enthusiasm.

Principal Viki Wilson is leading the way by using activities from the Random Acts of Kindness Foundation website to motivate and support her staff. She shares a daily quote and picture from the RAK site on a Staff Daily Information Sheet to inspire her team throughout the year. Additionally, a bulletin board has been created to suggest RAK activities for staff and students every day from January through the end of March.

The RAK project has two primary goals: promoting self-care and creating a sense of community and belonging. Principal Wilson believes that self-care is essential for caring for others, and creating a welcoming environment at school is crucial for both staff and students. The school aims to be a safe place where everyone feels welcome and supported.

To support the RAK movement, Principal Wilson recently incorporated a shared goal setting during a professional development day with staff. This initiative aligns with the upcoming National Social Emotional Learning Day on March 2. The Boonton campus’ commitment to kindness and community building is a shining example of how our teams live our values of being inclusive and collaborative.
